Getting Into the SWING of Things

So a few weeks ago I experienced my first ever official swing dance! Have you ever gotten flipped and swung around like a sack of flour? I have ! Is it fun? You know it!!! That is definitely a plus of being small; it's easy for guys to do those cool swing dance stunts with you.  It was an outdoor dance and it got pretty chilly, so dancing was actually a very practical way to keep warm. :)

As everyone's iPhone clocks struck midnight (so magical, right?), some friends and I surprised my wonderful roommate with a little birthday celebration! Seeing her happiness and excitement was priceless!

Happy birthday....REGINA!!!

My roommate and I actually didn't even sleep that night because she had to be at the airport at 5 AM. At 6 AM I left with my other friend to go to her home city, Fargo!

Before we went out, Gretchen taught me tricks on how to effectively layer clothing to keep warm on a chilly day.  That's for another post, though!  After we (I) were sufficiently bundled, we went to college game day at NDSU and went tail gaiting! I had my first ever TACO IN A BAG (a.k.a "Walking Taco"), which seems to be a thing up here!  I don't blame these Midwesterners for loving them so much because they are delicious!!

Here is a recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/taco-in-a-bag/

We used Doritos for the corn chips in our Tacos in a Bags (?...that may or may not be grammatically correct)

After that we went to an Asian grocery store!!! I was so excited and I had a great time stocking up on my Asian goodies!
{jelly cups, rice crackers, Thai tea packets, milk tea packets, shrimp chips, Jasmine tea bags, dried mango}

The gorgeous Catholic church of Sts. Anne and Joachim

The church has beautiful tile pictures of virtues on the floor to add to the already regal atmosphere.

Another huge thank you to my friend Gretchen and her family for taking me in!!! I had such a great time!!!

Until next time...

Justine
