Four Fargo Firsts

So this past weekend I had the opportunity to go visit Fargo!  I was a ton of fun and I experience a lot of new things!  Here are my four "Fargo Firsts":

Number 1: Barn Dance!

Friday night I went to a barn dance with some friends. YEE. HAW. Haha, but seriously. :)
Some pros and cons of the experience:

PROS:
- It's fun to swing dance and two step.
- Line dance songs are also played.
- If you are into country music, that's seriously the majority of the type of music that is played.
- You get to meet new people.
- You may get spontaneously flipped by an enthusiastic swing dance partner.

CONS:
- Swing dance/ two stepping requires a partner, so ladies pretty much have to wait to be asked to dance.  I mean, a lady could grab a guy to dance, but that didn't really seem like the norm.
- If you are NOT into country music, then you might just wanna boogie somewhere else.
- You may get spontaneously flipped by an enthusiastic swing dance partner.

NUMBER 2: Hockey Game!!!

Seriously, hockey is SO COOL! (in more ways than one :)
Hockey is a fast paced, exciting game.  You have to really pay attention to follow the puck since it just zooms around constantly.  I hear that "hockey fights" are tons of fun.  I don't exactly know how/ why that works, but it's what I've heard.  The game that I saw went to overtime AND a shoot out.  I went to the right first hockey game. :)

NUMBER 3: Hot-tubbing...IN NEGATIVE DEGREE WEATHER

THIS was quite the experience.  Imagine this:

You are running outside to the hot tub.  It's -5 degrees. You only have your swimsuit and a sweatshirt on.  You pull off your sweatshirt and try to get into the hot tub as quickly as possible--without slipping on the steps or falling in head first.  When you lower yourself in, the water is HOT HOT HOT!  Your body is in freak out mode and screaming, "AGH you crazy person put some proper clothes on and get into a warm building!!!"  As you soak in this wonderful, uncomfortable moment, your body finally gets used to the water.  Now all you have to worry about is how cold your face and ears are.  You decide that the best way to deal with this is to put some of the hot water onto your face and ears periodically.  It's so cold that your hair turns white with frost (and your eyebrows too).  When you are back inside a house, you're glad you went hot-tubbing, but you don't really feel the urge to do it again too soon. ;)

NUMBER 4: FROSTEA <3

Fargo has this cute little boba tea shop called Frostea.  I think the name is cute and quite fitting for the area.  I had the Taro + Coconut milk tea with regular boba.  It was legit!  It tasted like boba from home and I was quite excited--probably not as excited as my sister was when she tried it--but excited just the same.  :)  I recommend it if you are ever going to Fargo.

All in all, my "Fargonian" getaway was quite the bomb.  I had fun with friends and was able to have some home life away from the dorm for a bit!  My Fargo family is so good to me. :)  It's hard being so far away from home, but it does have it's perks.  I've got to meet so many wonderful people and learn about what things are like from a VERY different perspective.  Excited for what's to come.

Ta Ta For Now!
